Fiscal Sponsorship

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Conduit offers fiscal sponsorship to artists and artist-run collectives whose work aligns with our mission.

Learn more below about how to become fiscally sponsored, the benefits and requirements of the program, and how fiscal sponsorship can support your fundraising and grant applications.

What is fiscal sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship is a contractual relationship between a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an individual or group whose activities align with the sponsor’s mission. Through this relationship, the nonprofit can extend many of the benefits of tax-exempt status to the sponsored project—without the group having to establish its own nonprofit entity.

What can you do with fiscal sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship gives you access to Conduit’s resources to help sustain and grow your work. We understand that every artist’s needs are unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Some of the tools we provide include:

  • Solicit funds which are eligible for tax-deduction to your donors.

  • Receive contributed funds via electronic funds transfer.

  • Process credit card donations using Stripe.

  • Apply for grants and corporate sponsorships.

  • Ask for tips and guidance from our team.

Some activities may be prohibited for fiscally-sponsored projects. Please thoroughly discuss and review your project with a Program officer prior to fundraising.
